IHS ATHLETICS

The Innisfail Cyclones offer a tremendous amount of opportunity for all students to participate in a variety of athletic teams. We have 10 high school teams that compete in a variety of leagues governed by the Alberta Schools Athletic Association. They include Golf, Volleyball, Football, Basketball, Curling, Badminton, and Track. Most of these sports have both female and male teams. We have a variety of coaches who are devoted to developing the players both physically and mentally on and off the field. For the past 2 years, our Sr. Girls Volleyball team has attended the 3A Provincial tournament. We have also had various representatives at the provincial level in other sports. At the Jr. High Level, we offer 8 teams available for students to participate in. They include Volleyball, Football, Basketball, Badminton, and Track. These teamsplay in the CENAA league against various schools in our division. We also provide an opportunity for students play on as many teams as possible, making sure that teams do not cross over in season. Our coaches are dedicated to promoting development of skills to all players. Fun, Fitness and Fundamentals are the building blocks of our Jr. High athletics. We have won the CENAA banner in Basketball, Badminton and Track for the past few years and continue to be a force to be reckoned with in the division.
